IELTS General Training Reading Practice Test
The IELTS General Training Reading Practice Test is 60 minutes long. This reading test consists of three sections.
Section 1:
The section 1 will contain two or three short factual texts and 6-8 short texts will be related to hotel advertisements topic. The other topics are related to everyday life in an English speaking country.
Section 2:
This section 2 will contain two short factual tests which are focusing on work related issues such as applying for jobs, company policies, pay and conditions.
Section 3:
Sections 3 will contain one longer, more complex text on a topic of general interest texts are authentic, and are taken from notices, books, advertisements, company handbooks, magazines and newspapers.
Question Types:
A number of variety questions are given, you have to choose from the given types like multiple choice, identifying information, matching information, note completion, flow-chart completion, identifying writer’s views, table completion, diagram label completion, summary completion, short- answer questions.
Marking: Â
Each correct answer receives one mark. 40 marks out of scores are converted to the IELTS 9-band scale. The scores are provided in whole and half bands.
IELTS Academic Reading Practice Test
The IELTS Academic Reading Test is also 60 minutes long. There are three sections are available in Academic Reading Test. The total text length is 2,150 to 2,750 words.
- Each section will contain one long text.
- Those texts are authentic and they are taken from books, journals, magazines and newspapers.
- Texts are accessible to test-takers entering undergraduate or postgraduate courses, seeking professional registration.
- The texts may contain non-verbal materials such as diagrams or graphs.
Question Types:
