About IELTS Exam

IELTS Speaking Practice Test

The IELTS General Training Speaking Practice Test is 11 to 14 minutes long. In this test you have a discussion with a certified examiner. It is a real lifer situation and interactive you can get.

This Speaking test consists of three parts.

Part 1:

In first part you have to answer the questions, which are asked about yourself, your family, your work and your interests.

Part 2:

In part 2, you speak about a topic. In this a task card to you which asks to speak about a particular topic and includes points that and you have to cover in your talk. One minute will be given to prepare. You will then speak for 1-2 minutes.

Section 3:

In Part 3, you have a longer discussion on the topic. The examiner will ask you further questions which are related to the topic in Part 2.

The IELTS Speaking test is the same for both General Training and Academic.

Speaking Test Tips/Tricks

  1. Practice speaking with a partner, friend or teacher before going for the test.
  2. Try to talk as fluently as possible and be spontaneous.
  3. Be confident and enjoy using your English.
  4. You have to develop your answers.
  5. Ask for clarification if necessary.
  6. You will be assessed on your ability to communicate and express your opinions.
  7. Speak more than the examiner.
  8. Practice at home and record the answers yourself.
